Obituary for Bruce Albert Strohschein

Bruce Albert Strohschein, age 66, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN after a courageous fight with cancer.

Bruce was born on May 9, 1952 in Cokato, MN. He was the son of Albert and Bessie (Marohn) Strohschein.

He grew up in Howard Lake, MN, graduated from Mayer Lutheran High School in 1970, and then attended the University of Minnesota. He married Shirley Morris on April 23, 1977 in Cokato, MN and moved to Shakopee, MN in 1978. In their 41 years together, they were blessed with two children, Andrew and Jessica. Bruce spent his career working for Pepsi Co., then owned a furniture touch up and restoration business, and most recently worked as a sales representative at The Home Depot.

In Bruce’s younger years, he enjoyed drag racing cars, having rebuilt his own 1969 Chevy Camaro. He enjoyed deer hunting, collecting coins, fixing almost anything, and all things chocolate. He was passionate about collecting agates, gems, and minerals. Bruce especially found great joy in spending time with his family and above all valued his faith in Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Andrew (Annalisa) Strohschein and Jessica (Matthew) Volkman; grandchildren, Asher and Allegra Strohschein; sister, Lois Strohschein; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bessie; and father and mother-in-law, Alger and Mildred Morris.
