Obituary for Dick S. Roe

Dick S. Roe, age 67, of Shakopee, MN, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Dick was born in Rockford, IL, on March 20, 1951, the son of Don and Lois (Barr) Roe. He married Wanita (Swanson) Anderson on September 9, 1989 in Ashland, WI.

Dick was an avid baseball fan. Most of his years spent rooting for the Yankees. Since leaving Wisconsin and becoming a Minnesotan, he switched allegiance to the Minnesota Twins. He tried downhill and cross country skiing. His cross country skiing was remarkable as he took some amazing tumbles (10 on the richter scale).

He and his wife traveled to Scandinavia, Mexico, and Canada and took many trips to California and the state of Washington. They enjoyed exploring new places throughout the United States.

Dick retired in 2013 to enjoy the life of leisure. Some of his activities included golfing and fishing with friends and family in Canada and Wisconsin. He was actively involved with friends of Bill W. His community outreach participation with this organization became an important part of his life. He was active in the AA Thunderbird Group in Bloomington, MN.

Dick has touched many lives and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Dick is survived by his wife, Wanita; mother, Lois; brothers, Bob (Linda) and Doug; step-children, Robin Jendro, Alan (Val), Tracey, and Deanna Anderson; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Don.
