Obituary for Donald J. Egan

Donald J., “Don”, age 83, of Savage, MN, died February 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by loving family.
Don was born on July 3, 1933, in Savage, the son of John and Lena (Miller) Egan. He lived his entire life in Savage, except for the two years he served in the United States Army as an MP. Don and his wife, Mary, have been married 59 years. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local #49 and Knights of Columbus. Don was the Mayor of Savage from 1988 to 1995.
Don enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and hunting and fishing when he was younger.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lena; brothers, Jack and Russ; beloved son, Joe. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Shea); children, Mary "Bee", Donald (Debra), Tom (Donna), Peter, Regina (Dan) Myer; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Julie (Wally) Bunnell, Luella Hennen, Mildred (Jerry) Boerner, Pat (Ken) Miller.
