Obituary for Evelyn Mary Menden

Evelyn Mary Menden, age 87, of Shakopee, MN, entered eternal life on Monday, January 1, 2018, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Shakopee.

Evelyn was born in Shakopee on January 13, 1930, the daughter of Christian and Anna (Neuzil) Rein. She married Lester J. Menden on May 15, 1951, at Church of St. Mark in Shakopee.

Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored her family time, which included many vacations and traveling with Lester. She liked to bake, garden, and play cards. In her free time she enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, and doing word finds.

Survived by children, Nancy (Jim) Clark, John (LuAnn), Peggy (Mike) Dircks, and Mike; grandchildren, Jamie Clark, Megan Hanson, Jennifer Gillard, Emily Barkley, Anita Woodrow, Eric Dircks, Joel Dircks, Sarah McCarty, Peter Menden, Maggie Menden; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Monnens; sister-in-law, Lucy Rein; brother-in-law, Edwin Menden; many other family and friends. Preceded by husband, Lester; parents, Christian and Anna Rein; siblings, Joe, Carl, Marie, Christie, Francis, Jerome, Esther Johnson, James, Sister Christa, and Jean.
