Obituary for John Perez

John Perez, age 88 of Burnsville, Minnesota, entered eternal life on Saturday, August 11, 2018.

John was born on November 4, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Gregory and Emilia (Andrada) Perez. He was a self employed small business owner of Hiawatha Lake Auto Upholstery. He is married to Soleda (DeLeon) Perez.

John served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, on the U.S.S. Van Valkenburgh. For over 50 years, John was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Father Lucian Galtier Assembly; was a former Faithful Navigator President; and a Color Corp Commander for over 20 years.

John was instrumental in the creation of Burnsville Athletic Club (BAC). He enjoyed coaching; baseball, football, and watching his grandkids play a variety of sports.

John is survived by his wife, Soleda; sons, Ralph (Joanne) and Patrick; grandchildren, Juana, Innocencia, Vincent, Bryan, Ricardo, Rebecca and Juan; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Theresa). Preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Presiding is the Reverend Tim Sandquist. Pallbearers are Ricardo Perez, Juan Perez, Laura Pilon, Paul Perez, Vincent Perez, and Bryan Perez. Interment, with Military Honors provided by the Anoka County Vietnam Veterans Honor Guard, will be held on Thursday at 1:15 PM, Assembly Area #5, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
