Obituary for Joyce Ann Houlihan

Joyce A. Houlihan, of Burnsville [47 years] and Brooklyn Park [3 years], passed away on April 7, 2018, at the age of 81 years, following several years of various illnesses. She will be immensely missed by her husband of 59 years, James P. [Pat] Houlihan, and seven children, Tammy [Dave] Kight, Tim, Michael [Pam], Colleen [Lonnie] Faacks, Danny [Nancy], Chrissy [Monte] Mraz, and Bridget [Chris] Root. Also grieving her passing are her 13 grandchildren, Stephanie [Tim] Hunt, Maddie, Alex and Sarah Houlihan, Olivia, Jessica and Jacob Faacks, Carly and Katy Houlihan, Max [Sara] and Sammy Mraz, and Emma and Lauren Root; great grandson, Oliver Mraz; and brothers, James (Lorraine) and Steve Peppmuller. Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald.

She enjoyed a nursing career of 41 years, primarily at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, and Abbott NW Hospital in Minneapolis.

Joyce loved life, and its people, evidenced by her volunteering at St. John the Baptist Church in Savage [Pastoral Ministry, etc], Abbott NW [Patient Partners], and Dakota County’s DARTS program [Respite Care].
